                                      Causes of cancer

What is cancer????? It is simply an uncontrolled and uncoordinated growth of cells in the body. generally the cancer is of two types benign and metastatic. Cancerous cells are also termed as malignant cells due to their tendency of causing malignancy in the body. type and location of the cancer always determine the symptoms of the cancer, like coughing is a symptom of the lung cancer.

        Now lets come to the causes of cancer.

Tobacco- A major cause of cancer:
    Tobacco, the basic cause of lung cancer in the world is the biggest cause of death. besides lung cancer, tobacco can also cause cancer of mouth, nasal cavities, lips and sinuses, stomach, pancreas, esophagus, uterus, bladder, cervix, colon or rectum and also a certain kind of leukemia.

Genetic factor:
    Cancer can also be transmitted genetically from  a family member, like from a parent or grand parent. In most of the cases, genetically cancer is passed by an abnormal gene, may be from one generation to the other. But ration of the inherited cancer is quite low.

Physical activity and diet:
    Now what is the connection between the physical activity, diet and cancer??? As, we all know that a a healthy life style prevents many diseases and problems. So is the case in cancer. Obese people have more risk of cancer as compared to the people who have a controlled body weight. In over weight people, there is noticed an increased secretion of hormones like estrogen and insulin which are triggering factors for cancer.
Similarly, one has to eat health food free of high caloric content. Moreover, eat more vegetables and simply avoid soft drinks. Avoid red meat, give preference to the fish. Limit the use of creamy and cheese enriched diets.

Sun- Cause of skin cancer:
    who can deny the benefits and the luxuries of the sunlight, but guys at the same time its the sunlight which is also carcinogenic for the people around the globe. Skin cancer is the most common form of the cancer as skin is the largest organ of the body. skin cancer is also termed as melanoma as it the target site is melanocytes. People who have a suppressed amount of melanin pigment are more prone to skin cancer as compared to the people with the dark complexion. Melanin pigment proves to be the defense shield for skin cancer.
    Besides these, there can be certain other causes of cancer, like people working in atomic reactors or those who are exposed to radiation are also at risk of cancer. certain chemicals like asbestos, formaldehyde can also behave as the carcinogenic agents.
